Welly Exchange

Schuh will offer a free pair of wellies to anyone willing to exchange their muddy, impractical footwear. The unwanted footwear will then be collected by the European Recycling Company who will send them on to the third world, where the shoes are locally refurbished and sold on, thus creating a much needed local industry.

At the event, Schuh will operate from an inflatable eventstation. The station will have an exchange area for trying the wellies on with two ‘pods’ either side, one containing the wellies, the other containing the discarded shoes.

In the event of nice weather (which or course it will be!) and a subsequent low demand, the welly exchange will also provide more summary footwear, allowing people to exchange their wellies for sandals.

All discarded shoes will be paired up and collected by the European Recycling Company at the end of the festival.
